If you are new and are interested in learning how to DJ please check out this thread first. I can connect you with him if you are interested./r/DJs is a subreddit for general DJ discussion: equipment, techniques, news, music, etc. Both of these softwares are out of date but he sells the mapping for $60 and it works well (specifically with and s4). Personally I can't wait to see when this integration gets released.įinally I know someone personally that created a mapping to control Resolume 6 from Traktor 2. The website says it supports Resolume natively but I as of now that doesn't seem to be released commercially. Pioneer Bridge also works natively with Arkaos. This is a very expensive route but the potential is enormous. I am currently working on a set up where Pioneer Bridge is sending signals to an Avolities console and an Avolites AI media server to control both lighting and visuals. Personally I am most intrigued by the potential of the Pioneer DJ Bridge software. The software alone is expensive, let alone the cost of CD-Js, but when you are working with tier 1 artists the cost isn't as big of a concern. ShowKontrol is the industry standard for sending timecode out of CD-Js. If you want to use CD-Js (the industry standard for EDM) things get a lot more expensive very quickly. If you want to go the OSC route these guys made some amazing patches for Resolume 7 worth checking out. If you want to dive even deeper you can use OSC but that is a little beyond what I have done or needed to do so far. You can have just about anything in Ableton trigger stuff in Resolume using this setup. If you have two separate computers, one for Ableton and one for Resolume which I highly recommend, you can use RTPmidi.

You can do it all on one computer using the IAC driver on a Mac or Loopbe1 on a PC. I've toured with this set up and it is flawless. Each time you want to launch that audio clip you have to launch the entire scene to launch the midi trigger for the visual as well. You just create an extra midi channel that sends a specific midi note for the start of a clip corresponding to the audio clip you want to launch. The cheapest solution is Ableton to Resolume. I haven’t encountered any issues on Catalina with itĪnd if you run into any issues, Nick is the developer (he was on the team that developed Serato Video) and very responsive

Mixemergency can work with integrated graphics card machines as well (but I won’t recommend playing anything more than 720p videos) He can easily sign up to SmashVision, Xtendamix or if quality is not a priority BPMsupreme

So dj can be using Mac with Serato + ME, whereas VJ can be running Resolume on WindowsĭJ will need to acquire MP4 music videos for majority of his playlist. You don’t need to have Serato video to use mixemergency Videos can be bounced to Resolume via Syphon (this will require resolume to be be run on the same laptop) or NDI (dj will only be running Serato DJ and Mixemergency) and VJ will be running Resolume on a separate laptop.Best video plug in for Serato is called Mixemergency.SMPTE output would have been a great feature though.Īsk DJ to play music video directly on his Serato Note: I do not believe Soundswitch has any output other than DMX for light fixtures. Question: Anyone know if there's a DJ software that can play multitrack audio files over separate audio outputs? Idk if Traktor can do this with Stems. Manually sync the video inside Resolume.Cons: may require new DJ computer to handle the video.Serato Video sends video over Syphon to Resolume.Note: could also use one of the stereo tracks for the SMPTE.Cons: requires more prep work, may require a new audio interface to get separate channels.Pros: works with Serato, Armin Van Buuren has a video explaining how to do this with old CDJs.Dummy SMPTE tracks in Serato, sync over separate audio channels with Resolume.Note: can also be executed with TimeCode Sync, ShowKontrol, ProDJLink.Cons: requires new Pioneer hardware/Rekordbox.
